Part II: The Rangers, Their Friends, Their Allies, and Their Enemies

The Rangers:

Lucas Scott (Red)

Lucas is the leader of the Power Rangers. This will surprise no one, because he's always been the leader of almost any group he ends up in. Lucas is extremely stubborn. If he thinks that someone should do something, he's quite content to argue until they give in, or just stare at them until they do. He's not afraid to use other, more devious methods to get people to cooperate with him either.

Lucas is a strong believer in making sure people get along with each other. If he thinks that there's a problem that can be solved by two people honestly talking to each other, he'll push one towards the other, either using charm or his well-earned reputation for stubborness. This is because he likes harmony. He's especially alert to any problems on the team, because he feels responsible for all of them.

He could be a dictator, but he's not. He knows that he's not always going to be the one who thinks of courses of action, although sometimes he forgets and bullheadedly uses his own plan, no matter how wrong it may be. He cares for people, he tries to be sensitive to their feelings, sometimes he fails, but he never stops trying. Lucas just wants people to get along, and sometimes he has to be stubborn in order to achieve that aim.

Lucas is very protective of his friends, and, to some extent, overprotective. This is especially true of his relationship with Teresa, who he tends to view as a little sister - nevermind that he's not that much older than her! Most of the team is rather amused by this, although most of them do admit they get annoyed when Lucas gets overprotective of them.

Lucas is the son of Emily and Jason Scott. Although he's got quite a bit of his father's build, he tends to look more like a male version of his mother. He relies on his build and his muscles to intimidate people. He's currently dating Teresa DeSantos.

Ian Park (Green)

Ian is the team's quietest member, a shy young man who almost prefers technical things to other people. He's not overly brilliant, but he and mechanical things get along quite well. It takes Ian quite a bit of time to get used to people, although once he does, he's quite warm. He's quite loyal to those he considers his friends, though. He prefers to hide himself in plain sight, praying that nobody pays any attention to him.

Ian's friends have been trying to get him out of his shell for quite a long time now. Sometimes they succeed. While Ian is not very daring, he's not beyond taking up a dare from his friends. One of his favourite things is a black leather jacket Teresa dared him to get, which does make him look far more intimidating than he is. That's fine by Ian.

He never does loud if he can help it, unless it keeps people away from him. It hides the fact that he frequently gets toungue-tied because he's never sure what to say. His friends all know that, and often let him stay silent in a conversation until he's comfortable.

Ian is a Ranger because he has a chance to save his planet without anyone knowing who he is, except for the people he trusts. He places great stock in loyalty - to his friends, his parents, and his planet. Plus, he just can't see being left out of his group of friends, which he might be if he wasn't a Ranger.

Ian is the son of Adam and Tanya Park, one of two Rangers whose parents were both Rangers. He's taller than both parents, although not by much. Ian is multiracial (asian and white on his father's side, black on his mother's), but he looks black with some asian features.

Forrest Somerton (Blue)

Forrest is the spirit of the team. He's a laid-back soul, much like his father (T.J.). If anyone's depressed, he'll go out of his way to try to cheer them up. He can be as stubborn as Lucas or Teresa when it comes to getting the team to go on.

Like most of the group, Forrest grew up in Angel Grove. He was born about a year before his father retired from playing baseball. Shortly after his father retired, his family moved to Angel Grove. Due to his father's continuing friendship with other retired Rangers, he, Teresa, Lucas, and Ian all grew up together.

Forrest is quite good at sports, although he'd think more of his skills if he wasn't comparing them to Teresa's. He'd also probably make a pretty good leader in his own right, since he's been the president of one or two clubs. As it is, he makes a pretty good second-in-command.

Forrest's dad, as mentioned before, is the son of Theobald "T.J." Somerton. Sizewise, he's a bit shorter than Ian.

Teresa DeSantos (Yellow through "Expected Changes")

Teresa's power is the power of balance, and it fits her perfectly. Teresa, as she's fond of reminding the team, is of two worlds, the world of the Rangers and the world of the Tomorrow People. She grew up with both. She gets irate when her friends, both Tomorrow People and Power Rangers, forget this. To her, cutting off one of her worlds would be like cutting off a part of her body. Finding a balance between her two worlds is an important thing to her.

Athletics is a big force in Teresa's life. She got into athletics to get away from well-intentioned but misunderstanding friends. She's very good at the sports she's into, archery and baseball. Her teammates in these sports, like the rest of the world, don't have the slightest idea that she's in any way different. Around them, she doesn't have to emphasize one part of her heritage, and therefore she's able to relax.

Teresa is the team's athlete: she feels very comfortable almost any weapon, and has the best aim of the team. Perhaps this is because, deep inside, she hopes that she will never become a Tomorrow Person, because she is afraid if that happens, she'll never find her balance again.

Teresa is the daughter of Rocky and Isabella (Iz) DeSantos. She's a little shorter than average (about 5'5"), with black hair slightly longer than shoulder length, which she often braids. Her eyes are brown.

Teresa broke out in "Expected Changes" and brought Elise Cresswell in as the Yellow Ranger, although she keeps close association with her teammates, especially her boyfriend Lucas.

Cecelia Oliver (Pink)

Cecelia is the odd person on the team. This doesn't mean she's odd at all, just that she's the only person who didn't grow up in Angel Grove. Cecelia moved to Angel Grove with her parents only a few days before Regina came to Earth. She doesn't always feel like she belongs with the others, since they all grew up together. However, she tries to hide it.

Both of Cecelia's parents were athletes and people of very high reputation. This makes Cecelia feel that she's not living up to her parents' standards, as she is average in most things. Cecelia does have a passion for the sciences, especially chemistry, although she tends to think her skills are also average there.

Cecelia often doesn't feel like she belongs on the team, and not just because she's the newcomer to the group. She's very aware that her father led his generation of Rangers for several years, and that her mother was a Ranger of some skill as well. She, on the other hand, is not a leader, nor very good at fighting. She tends to get overshadowed by Ian, Teresa, and Lucas, who all excel in areas where she thinks she ought to do well in.

Cecelia is the daughter of Tom and Katherine Oliver. She's much more like her mother than her father, except that she is rather tall. She's got blond hair, and like Teresa, hers is slightly below shoulder length. She grew up in Sydney (Australia) and Cheyenne (Wyoming) and so has a slightly eclectic vocabulary and sometimes sounds a bit Australian. Cecelia is a dual (American/Australian) citizen.

Elise Creswell (Yellow from "Expected Changes" on)

Elise is the only Ranger who isn't the child of a former Ranger, and sometimes this makes her feel left out. She also feels somewhat uncomfortable taking over Teresa's powers, for Teresa was one of the best fighters on the team, and she isn't much of a fighter.

However, Elise is also brave, spirited, and dedicated. Teresa chose her for all these qualities, plus the archery skills that made the two of them a deadly duo on the archery field. Elise sometimes forgets these things, but her teammates are always there to remind her that there was a reason for her to be chosen. Plus, she is slowly gaining courage as Lucas teaches her to fight.
