Rosemary Schultz

I 'met' Dr. Rosemary Schultz in the first post I wrote for her. She was waiting for the flight that would take her to Washington, D.C., and talking to her sister about things, mostly their opposing views on the Companions.

And, in almost every single post since then, I've gotten to know a bit more about her. A post, after all, could be compared to a vignette, or, more accurately, to a story fragment. The story is the adventures the characters that I and others play in the US Taelon Division PBeM, interweaving our many different perspectives into a (somewhat) cohesive story.

Rosemary is an innocent, not overly bold person. In the start of her adventures, she tended to hold Companion Security in awe- which didn't help that the top-level people, the Implants, went nuts or got sick due to a virus disrupting their CVIs. However, despite this general reluctance, she did chase the sick Beckett (despite knowing that Beckett had already killed another doctor) and led a team to follow Sandoval and recover Beckett.

Just as she was relaxing from the whole CVI virus mess, she was kidnapped, along with a fellow CVI specialist, Dr. Jennifer Christian. Their kidnapping was to draw attention away from the discovery of Atlantis. Jen eventually made it out, thanks to some clever faking. Rosemary, on the other hand, was stuck there and chose to 'entertain' her captors with whatever she could remember. Unfortunately, Rosemary cannot sing, much to the frustration of her captors. She was eventually released by three people working for Companion Security.

Currently (or currently as I write this), Rosemary is starting to investigate a series of thefts at the medical building where she works, which may or may not have anything to do with the bombings of three medical facilities.

And over the passing time, I've discovered other things about her: she grows her own herbs for teas and other things (she requested horehound once from her sister). In fact, she keeps up with the herb-growing trade/hobby. She is a beginning Esperantist, and often reads stuff in that language to keep her mind off other things. Her clothes are nice, but not flashy. She takes birth control pills. Besides herbs, she likes a lot of dairy stuff. She and her sister look enough alike that if one wears a wig, they can be mistaken for one another (if no one that knows them looks very closely).

Now, as I begin this series of stories, Rosemary is still investigating (with some help) the thefts/bombings. However, what's on her mind is not the bombings. Instead, she has been invited along on a double date - Jen and her husband James, and Rosemary with the Companion Protector Liam Kincaid. As she will discover, the double date is not what it seems - Jen has some important news to tell her, something that she discovered while in Antarctica... something that will change Rosemary's life, forever....
